Stuck in Florida
Last week Hava and I took a road trip in our RV to Florida. Our original plan was to travel along the coast of Florida taking A1A to Florida state parks/campgrounds. Our RV made it from Baltimore to Jacksonville and in Jacksonville is where the RV’s fuel pump broke…on a bridge. The engine died at the crest of the bridge and we drifted to the shoulder at the bottom of the bridge. I’m thankful that we got towed to a wonderful mechanic shop called Firestone in Jacksonville. Hava and I had to wait for two parts to come in for the RV. A distributor and fuel pump. We waited in the parking lot for 6 days for the parts to come in. As soon as the parts were installed, we hit the road back to Baltimore to try to beat the snow storm! We are home safely now and I am back to working on my artwork website. Take a look at some of the photos of our 6 days spent in the mechanic shop parking lot.
Broken down at the bottom of the bridge. We waited 4 hours for the tow truck to pick us up lol.
A huge thank you to Steve-O the tow truck driver for picking us up off the road.
A drawing of Hava sitting in the RV waiting for it to be fixed.
A drawing of some plants Hava collected during a hike in a wilderness area not too far from the RV.
A doodle of a peacock while we’re waiting in the parking lot!
My mobile mechanic shop art studio lol! I worked on two commissions for my friends while we waited :)
Two 8” x 10” watercolor paintings I completed in the mechanic shop lobby!
Our home for 6 days :) Thank you to Mitch, Stan, and Jay at Firestone for getting us back on the road. Hava and I are planning another road trip in the Spring once things warm up a bit.
